While attending University of Oklahoma Ms. Reed had the opportunity to gain experience in public relations and marketing by immersing herself in projects for coursework including crisis communication, media relations and campaign management.
She completed her BFA in ballet performance as well a degree in public relations, and found she was quite interested in intertwining the two. Her primary interests are in rebranding/marketing for the dance world, especially ballet.
Reed says, “As I completed my degrees at the University of Oklahoma I became passionate in marketing in the dance world. "How do you target ballet to new audiences?", was the ultimate question and the answer is social media. While I danced professionally with a ballet company I also ran the social media, sent out newsletters, and reached out to new partners and audiences. As my marketing experience in the arts continues to develop, I see media as the ultimate portal for any upcoming brand, whether personal, business, style and/or travel. My whole life I have maintained a busy yet organized lifestyle, I am excited to join the Oklahoma International Dance Festival team.”
