OIDF UPDATE (COVID-19): MAY 31, 2020
Oklahoma International Dance Festival Moves Online Due to COVID-19
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first annual Oklahoma International Dance Festival will take place entirely online, offering an artistic and educational dance experience from July 26 to August 9, 2020.
Though travel restrictions have inhibited the festival’s international faculty from traveling to the United States, the online festival will expose dancers everywhere to exceptional instruction from all over the globe. The festival will offer up to four classes a day, six days a week in the following genres: ballet, repertory, contemporary technique, contemporary pointe work, modern dance technique, improvisation, composition, Gaga - dancers, GYROKINESIS® and pilates.
The Oklahoma International Dance Festival will feature exceptional faculty members: Brian Brooks, Colin Connor, Vincent Gros, Raffaele Irace, Fredrick Davis Berit Ahlgren, Larry Keigwin, Roser Muñoz, Leticia Plans, and Margo Sappington. Classes will be held via Zoom with a limit of 14 dancers per class to maximize feedback and personalize training.
“Since we are not able to bring our faculty to Oklahoma this year, we decided to build a dynamic, revised online option which allows dancers to engage with our international faculty,” said OIDF Founder Austin Hartel. “Taking the festival online also presents an opportunity for those dancers who otherwise may not have been able to travel to Oklahoma to get world-class training right in their living rooms.”
The Oklahoma International Dance Festival is open for registration through July 15. Dancers participating in the festival will be required to have a high-speed internet connection, a computer, tablet, or phone, if possible, a ballet barre equivalent, a yoga mat, and a recommended 6-by-6 feet space to work in.

OIDF UPDATE ON THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19): MARCH 21, 2020
OIDF is continuing to closely monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and is committed to providing regular updates. OIDF is currently planning to hold the Summer Intensive.
SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS are all canceled until further notice, for information about video auditions, please go to Auditions Page
In the event that OIDF is forced to cancel any of its programs during the 2020 season (July 26 - August 9) as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), OIDF will refund any deposit and/or tuition payments. Please note that application fees are non-refundable. We strongly encourage participants to drive to the festival and/or hold off on booking airline tickets until May 15. Participants will be responsible for travel and/if off-campus housing expenses incurred.
As a member of the nonprofit dance community, we anticipate a devastating hit both to earned and contributed revenue, threatening the arts and educational programs and services we offer to the public.
Thank you for your support of the Oklahoma International Dance Festival. We will share updates as we continue to navigate the evolving COVID-19 situation. Please check back to this page for further updates.
