Professional Training Program:  July 26th – August 9th, 2020

Oklahoma International Dance Festival provides rigorous professional training for dancers, offers residencies for practicing dance artists, and presents performances with a renown roster of local, national, and international dancemakers. Targeting the pre-professional / collegiate dancer, OIDF serves the Central Region of the United States, as well as a diverse community of dance artists and audiences.  The Festival has assembled a dynamic and diverse faculty, so dancers from throughout the region and beyond may experience an international view with working professionals in the field, here in Oklahoma.

Location and Dates

The Festival is held at the picturesque Quartz Mountain Arts and Conference Center and Nature Park in the Wichita Mountains of southwestern Oklahoma. 

  • ​Participant check-in will be Sunday, July 26, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • The orientation is at 3:00 p.m.

  • Festival check-out will be Sunday, August 9, 2020, no later than 12:00 p.m.

  • Participants must stay for the duration of the entire two-week program.


Quartz Mountain is within easy driving distance from Oklahoma City, OK, and Dallas, TX. For participants flying in/out of Oklahoma City Will Rogers World Airport, a charter bus to/from the festival will be available. Please contact OIDF for more information regarding charter bus reservations and fees.

Room & Board

All OIDF participants will be housed in the Quartz Mountain Resort hotel. Single and double occupancy rooms are available. All rooms are air-conditioned and participants in double rooms will have the option to request a roommate. Due to the remote location of Quartz Mountain, OIDF room & board is all-inclusive. All meals are served in the Sundance Café located in the lodge with several choices of entrees daily. Dietary restrictions may be accommodated. Please contact OIDF if you have severe food allergies.

Classes and Registration

Created specifically with pre-professional & collegiate dancers in mind.

Oklahoma International Dance Festival offers rigorous training in both Classical Ballet and Modern Dance. Dancers develop their technique, broaden their range through an immersive experience with their art form.


Dancers may take up to four classes per day from a wide range of classes. 

Classical Ballet and Modern Technique, improvisation, partnering, variations & repertory, GAGA, GYROKINESIS®, and Pilates are offered.

During the application process, participants may choose between a classical ballet or modern/contemporary repertory focus. In an effort to ensure all participants have an opportunity to experience cross-genre benefits, dancers will take both ballet and modern/contemporary technique classes. Technique class leveling will be determined by participant video submitted with the application.

Performances Opportunities

Within the Festival framework, dancers will be able to submit their choreography to the Choreography Showcase, (for more info click here), SOLOCOREOGRAFICO (for more info click here) and also be able to audition for the Gala Performance to be held on the last weekend of the show.

Evening And Weekend Events

Evening events will include performances, workshops, video screenings, and panel discussions. OIDF dancers receive complimentary tickets to all performances, including Brian Brooks Moving Company WORK-IN-PROGRESS, SOLOCOREOGRAFICO -USA, Emerging Artist Performance and the Choreography Showcase. On weekends, students may elect to participate in workshops on campus and/or explore the beauty of the Wichita Mountains and southwestern Oklahoma.
