OIDF SUMMER INTENSIVE

Welcome to the Oklahoma International Dance Festival Summer Intensive!

Get ready to elevate your dance skills and passion in an exhilarating two-week festival designed for dancers like you! Whether you're into classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, or modern dance, this is your chance to immerse yourself in a world of artistry and technique.

What to Expect:

Week 1: Dive into technique, refine your skills, and explore new choreographic approaches.

Week 2: Build on your foundation, explore repertory pieces, and prepare for an exciting performance.

Location & Dates:

• Where: Classes take place at UCO’s Mitchel Education Center, nestled in the heart of the city of Edmond. Performances take place at Oklahoma Contemporary.

• When: July 15 to July 27, 2024

Spaces are limited to 60 dancers, so secure your spot now and embark on a journey of self-discovery through dance.

Dancers will be placed on a waiting list once the program is filled.  A $300 deposit is due upon registration to hold your place in the program. This non-refundable deposit is applied directly toward your tuition. Applicants will be electronically notified of their status within ten business days of the application and the deposit being received.

**NEW** This year, we offer private variation coaching with our faculty and the opportunity to record your reel's dance variation or choreography. If you are interested, please email info@okdancefest.org for more details.​

TUITION, HOUSING & MEALS​         ​

• Resident dancers (includes housing and meals):  $2900.00 

• Commuting Dancers Tuition (does not include housing and meals):  $1400.00 

A non-refundable $300 deposit is required to reserve a place in the program.

A non-refundable $500 deposit is required to hold a place in the dormitory, due by May 2, 2024.

These deposits are applied toward the total tuition/housing costs.

The balance of all fees is due by June 3, 2024

 

HOUSING

OIDF offers residential housing at the Dorms on the beautiful University of Central Oklahoma campus, a 10-minute walk from the Mitchel Education Center studios.  Highlights of our res life program include:

• Low student-to-staff ratio (one RA for approximately every ten students)

• Close walking distance to 2nd Street,  including diverse shopping and restaurant options

• Chartered bus service between Edmond and OKC for performances and activities

• Breakfasts and dinners onsite at the cafeteria

• Lunches at the Ayer's Kitchen Cafeteria, five minutes from the studios!

• A wide array of dietary needs in all meals, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options

TRANSPORTATION

The campus is within easy driving distance from Oklahoma City, OK, and Dallas, TX. Ground transportation to and from the campus is available for dancers flying into Oklahoma City Will Rogers Airport (shuttle service or taxi.) Please notify OIDF (info@okdancefest.org) if you need transportation information regarding the door-to-door shuttle available from the airport to the campus.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

 If the dancer has to withdraw from the program for any reason, a portion of the tuition and housing costs may be refunded at the Director's discretion. Based on the date of withdrawal notice, certain payments are non-refundable.

INJURY POLICY

In the event a dancer is injured to the point where they are unable to participate PRIOR to the beginning of the program:

• OIDF must receive a doctor’s note explaining the injury.

• Tuition/Housing Deposits are non-refundable.

• Any payments made beyond deposits will be refunded via check.

COVID POLICY

In the event we are forced to shift to a virtual program due to Covid:

• Dancers will be given the option of a virtual program. Deposits can be shifted to the cost of the virtual program.

• Any payments made beyond the cost of the virtual program will be refunded.

• Tuition/Housing Deposits are non-refundable.
