Molly Davison

Molly Davison is a New York City based dancer and choreographer, and is thrilled to be joining the Oklahoma International Dance Festival faculty this year.  Originally from Ringwood, New Jersey, Molly began her training at the King Centre for the Performing Arts under the direction of Nancy King. Molly furthered her training at the University of Oklahoma (OU), where she received her BBA in Marketing and Healthcare Business, as well as a minor in Dance History. During her time at OU, she studied and performed with Centre de Dansa de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain under the direction of Roser Munoz. 

 

In 2021, Molly joined Dallas Black Dance Theatre: Encore! under the direction of Nycole Ray, where she performed works by Levi Marsman, Derion Loman and Madison Olandt, Edmond Giles and Jessica Hendricks. In 2023, Molly performed in The Palace Theatre’s original production of the The All New Piano Men, directed by Carl Rajotte,  and Centenary Stage Company’s production of Rock of Ages, directed and choreographed by Michael Restaino. She also performed in pieces choreographed by Daniel Gold and Krystyna Resavy in Leg Up on Life’s Night of Life: Benefitting the Trevor Project. Molly is a current member of Step One Dance Company with Holland America Line. 

 

As a choreographer, Molly has set works for multiple studios in both New Jersey and Texas. These pieces have been performed at showcases and competitions all over the country and have won many awards. In 2021, her piece “Man’s World” premiered in Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s in-studio show, Black on Black.  In 2022, her piece, “Run” was nominated for Choreography of the Year at the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles. In 2023, Molly also had the opportunity to set choreography for two high school dance teams in the northern NJ area. Molly is currently on faculty as a choreographer and instructor at the King Centre for the Performing Arts.
